We have spent time innovating, adapting and striving to maintain our high standards here at the Spa. We wanted to make you aware of some necessary changes so that we can keep providing the relaxing haven for you to unwind after what has been a challenging year so far for each and every one of us.
Smallshaw Spa one of life's essential luxuries that you will just want to book time and time again. We are so excited to welcome you back!
Do not come to the spa if you are showing any signs/symptoms of Covid-19. We are limiting the numbers in any one session to enable a safe spa experience. Also presently we are only able to offer a limited number of packages and ways to visit the spa.
Following Covid-19 we have been required to go digital. You will be sent an online consultation card to be completed prior to your visit. Even if you have been before, you will still need to complete this, it ensures we have the most up to date information for you.
SPA READY/ CHANGING ROOMS
We are staggering arrival/departure times but please arrive for your spa session spa ready (swimwear under clothes) and please if you can shower at home following your session. This is to minimise time in the changing rooms.
SESSION/ APPOINTMENT TIMING
To enable us to run smoothly session and appointment times that you have been given MUST be adhered to,, this will enable you to get the most out of your spa experience and to make it relaxing for everyone.
We would ask that you come to the spa reception door 5 minutes before your appointment time or your allocated session time and you will be met by a member of staff, It is so important to keep to these times to enable us to run the day smoothly.
If you arrive early please do wait in the car until your allocated time
If you arrive late, please do call us on 01226 767506 and we can advise the best course of action round our other guests.
If you are coming to the spa just for a treatment, no need to bring anything, just yourself and a mask! We would ask that you come to the spa reception door 5 minutes before your appointment time and you will be met by a member of staff who will take you for your treatment. You will be able to relax in our quiet room following your treatment for 20 minutes and you will be offered a complimentary herbal tea or you can purchase a glass of Prosecco or Beer.
WHAT TO BRING IF USING THE SPA
You will be provided a robe (together with an identification tag for your dressingown) and spa towel during your visit to the spa. But please do arrive spa ready as above and bring your;
- Own flip flops
- Bottle of water. (can be re filled at reception if need be)
Please do bring your own mask, they will not be required to wear in the Thermal Suite, but will be required in the reception area and our therapist may ask you to wear one in certain parts of the treatment. Our staff will be wearing masks.
Please observe social distancing rules where possible. We do ask that in any of the heat experiences or the outdoor hot tub that there are 2 people maximum unless in a social bubble
NUMBERS IN SPA
We are keeping the limit to numbers in the spa to 6 at one time. The only time it may be more than this is when cottage guests use the facilities but they will not be able to use the changing rooms.
Hand sanitiser will be provided at the spa reception door as well as placed throughout the spa, please do use regularly especially when touching handles of the various heat experiences. We will provide a hand towel for your own exclusive use in the pocket of your dressingowngown for handwashing.
Please place all used towels and robes in your locker at the end of your visit, lock the locker and please bring the key to reception.
PAYMENTS FOR EXTRAS
No cash, any payments at the spa need to be done by either debit/credit card.
Our quiet room looks a little different at the moment, we have had to take the bean bags out but there are comfy chairs and a corner sofa to relax in but please adhere to social distancing.
MOBILE PHONES & SMOKING
Phones are to be switched off in the Spa and we operate a no-smoking policy inside and outside of the spa building.

As we adapt to the new normal, please bear with us, to start with we are only able to offer the following packages as well as a fantastic selection of treatments.
A Little Bit of SPArkle, 3 hour spa experience to include 1/2 an hour treatment.
Signature Smallshaw, 3 hour spa exeperience with an 1 hour treatment.

We will be contacting everyone that was due to have a booking but didn’t take place because of the Pandemic and get you booked in. If you haven’t received an email please do get in touch.
Due to the limit on numbers we are allowed in the spa at one time we are unable to offer thermal suite use only presently.
FOOD & DRINK
We offer a range of drinks from tea/coffee to Prosecco or Bradfield Brewery's beers. We don’t offer any food. We do not allow any food or drink on the premises which has not been purchased here.
Whilst using the spa, kick back and enjoy the surroundings but remember that this is a place of serenity to relax and unwind so please keep noise to a minimum ensuring that you and all our guests get the most out of the Spa Experience.
GROUP BOOKINGS FOR THE SPA
If you are looking to book the spa as a group you must book one of our ‘Exclusively Smallshaw’ packages which give you exclusive use (6 people, 8 people, 10 people or more).
We do not accept bookings for 6 or more people without booking this package. If bookings are made individually and we become aware that it is a group, this will not be tolerated and we reserve the right to cancel the booking.
Please refrain from bringing your own products or oils with the intention to use in the Thermal Suite or Quiet Room in our Spa, this includes face masks or oils for sauna.
Full payment is required to secure the booking. If you need to cancel, if more than 48 hours notice is given then only a £50% charge will be incurred. If cancellations are received within 48 hours the booking will be charged at the full cost. We are able to reschedule your booking once for an alternative date subject to availability. Any further changes will result in the full charge being applied.
